Off to the hospital with Gill and saw various people about Gill's aftercare.
Visited Joy briefly afterwards and had to take bike to e-bike shop as arranged but John wasn't there so went back to Joy's.
Then got tickets for Shakespeare, and my tickets for Chepstow, and came back via Sainsburys.
Stacked turf late on.

Wednesday 27th June 18
Off to Valerie for 11 with ground-breaking tool. Found that the 'concrete' under the ground is in fact, clay with limestone rubble. I planted 5 shrubs and added 3 sacks of compost to the soil.
Tuesday 26th June 18
Compost order for Valerie at 3, and a meeting at Two Ridings at 5.30 - I had a quick bath between these two as at 7.15 I was due to be a model at Andreas' art class. I met Kiri at 7 and we cycled up there together. She will hopefully be a model at some time.

Monday 25th June 18
Saw Michael today, he gave me a finder's fee for is gig on Saturday, so I owe him a couple of receipts. I dealt with the potato plants too, which have grown very well in shallow soil and so I 'earthed them up' hoping they make some spuds. Chatted with Ken about the garage and digging a trench to put the footing of the wall into. Brought compost up the garden for Valerie tomorrow. Went to the chemist for Gill, and delivered a letter for Toby's appointment.

Sunday 24th June 18
I had perhaps foolishly agreed to be at the site of Manor School for 10am to meet up with Michelle and get some photos, so it was an earlier start than I would have liked, but I enjoyed doing the photography. The site had lots of rubble on it, including some mangled electrical wire and copper pipe, so I rescued quite a lot of this and brought a trailer load home.
But on the way home I popped into Armarna House to see Pauline, who has been going downhill with Parkinson's, however she was pleased to see me and we chatted for quite a while.
Then home for lunch, and I felt pretty wiped out so at 2.30 I went for a nap and slept til nearly 6pm. then went to do some trench digging in the garden, so Ken can build his wall. I'm not sure how I'll break up the concrete foundation of our garage but maybe a pick axe will do it.
In the evening I started preparing the wire, stripping off the insulation, and winding up the 'dry bright' copper to string onto 'necklaces'.

Friday 22nd June 18
A pretty productive day, got the compost order ready for Valerie, her minion will collect Tuesday. I picked up the coconuts too, and weeded the asparagus bed and finished (almost) shredding the stuff from around the garage. I did a shop for Gill.
In the evening Dawn came and we went to Low Moor for a Solstice bonfire.

Thursday 21st June 18, Summer Solstice
Saw the dawn in and then went to bed. Just 4 hours sleep as Douglas and Anna were due to come at 10. Productive day.
Sent off Terry Cozmic's cheque. Shopped. Found freegan Chinese stuff and recycling. Bought Coconuts. Planted beans and courgettes. Sorted compost, shredded.

Wednesday 20th June 18
A frustrating day; most of it inside catching up with various things and then a short time shredding and pruning more stuff away from the garage, but a fb issue meant a visit from Carl, then at 9pm, I went for an emergency meeting with Carl and Jeannette.
Not a good day on the whole.

Tuesday 19th June 18
Howard and Gill went to the hospital fairly early. I had a very quiet day inside, doing not a lot. However I did go to a meeting in the Science Park - a week early! (Was worth it though) and afterwards met up with Anna and Douglas at Pavement Vaults, then met up with Joy and went with them all to City Screen, and then walked home with Joy, and made her a bowl of soup.

Monday 18th June 18
Busy paperworky day. To the bank to pay paper bill, and Building Soc to get a cheque for Cozmic Balloons. Later I went back into town before meeting at 4.30 for the marshals' and stewards' ride, and I paid in my Middleton Park cheque and paid the Asbestos removal people.
The ride was good.
Went for a half afterwards in the Seahorse.

Saturday 16th June 18
Well today we had a visit from Jane and Mike at 2, and earlier I'd received a phone call from Kiri asking if there was any work available so I said come at 3 and we could take down the garage together. Which we did, took just over an hour, she carried wood up to the front.
I chainsawed up most of the wood - lots of nails.
Later, Gill went into hospital briefly to get her drain bottle changed.

Friday 15th June 18
Up early as Joy had a GP appointment and I've been going with her, to remind her what she's going for. And this time it was about her care package.
Then went to chemist and for a hot choc, I went to the hospital to see Gilly. Then cycle home and got on the phone to an Asbestos roof remover, who agreed to come and do the garage roof this afternoon! I needed to work with someone to take the second quince down to enable the last bit of roof to be uncovered. Toby and I did that.
John the roof chap came and started work and I kept clear. Very pleased with the result, though!
Gill came back at 10pm with Ros.

Thursday 14th June 18
Gill got a lift to the hospital with Diane.
I did some work in the garden with Howard, taking the quince tree down which covers the garage roof, and I booked a roof remover.
Created tea for children, went to Gary Haq's book launch. Then to Hospital to see Gill, fresh out of surgery.
Called in on Joy on way back, home to empty house as kids had gone for a walk.
